Child Restraint Offender Program

This two hour course is designed to provide safety information to parents and other significant persons involved in transporting babies and small children. The course can be taken at your local health department for prevention and education. Budget permitting, approved car seats may be available.

If you have received a citation for failing to properly restrain your child or baby, this course is offered locally by C.O.R.E. Program. The Course is two hours of traffic safety and instruction and will prevent you from getting points assessed to your license for the violation.

You must bring an approved car seat to class with you to learn hands on, proper installation.

The cost if you elect to take this course for a traffic citation is:

• Martin County: $83.20 payable to the Clerk of Courts Office.
• St. Lucie County: $81.20 payable to the Clerk of Courts Office.
• Indian River County: $72.00 payable to the Clerk of Courts Office.

The cost if you take this class on your own is $40.
